Its compact, round shape makes it a popular choice for creating focal points in aquariums.

Scolymia prefers moderate to low lighting and low water flow, which helps to keep its polyps fully extended and healthy. While it primarily depends on photosynthesis through its symbiotic zooxanthellae, occasional feedings of small plankton or coral foods can enhance its growth and coloration, particularly in nutrient-poor systems.
