Stylocoeniella is an encrusting SPS coral known for its colorful base and small, contrasting polyps. It grows across rockwork and other hard surfaces, forming a textured layer rather than the upright, bushy branches associated with Stylophora.

Stylocoeniella typically does well under low to moderate lighting with indirect flow that keeps debris from settling on its surface. Acclimate it gradually to changes in lighting, as excessive intensity can cause bleaching. Stable water conditions support healthy growth and coloration.

This coral receives much of its energy through its symbiotic zooxanthellae and may also benefit from appropriately sized coral foods. Leave space around the colony as it grows, since its encrusting tissue can spread onto nearby surfaces and compete with neighboring corals.
