Approximate Frag Size: 4–8 Polyps
Rasta Zoanthids are one of the most recognizable and popular zoa varieties in the reef aquarium hobby. Rasta Zoas feature a vibrant orange center surrounded by contrasting green and yellow coloration with a darker outer ring and skirt. Their bold coloration, relatively fast growth, and easy care make them a longtime favorite for zoanthid collectors and mixed reef aquariums.
Almost WYSIWYG: You will receive a healthy Rasta Zoa frag similar in size and appearance to the coral pictured. Each frag will contain approximately 4–8 polyps. Because this is a living coral, exact polyp count, coloration, shape, and appearance may vary slightly from the representative photo.
Zoanthids (Zoanthus spp.)
Lighting Requirements: Low to Moderate
Water Flow: Low to Medium
Care Level: Easy
Placement: Lower to Middle Levels
Temperament: Peaceful
Zoanthids are a popular soft coral known for their bright, colorful polyps and ease of care. These corals are often seen in vibrant hues of green, orange, pink, and purple, and they can create stunning, carpet-like colonies that cover rocks or substrates in the aquarium. Zoanthids are well-loved for their hardiness and rapid growth, making them a great choice for beginner and advanced hobbyists alike.
Zoanthids do well under low to moderate lighting, and they prefer low to medium water flow, which helps keep their polyps extended and healthy. They are primarily photosynthetic but will benefit from occasional feedings of small plankton or coral foods to support optimal growth and color.
Known for their peaceful temperament, Zoanthids are ideal for reef tanks with other corals. However, they should be given adequate space to grow and spread, as some species can release toxins when stressed.
