Acropora Coral (Acropora spp.)

Lighting Requirements: High

Water Flow: Medium to Strong

Care Level: Advanced

Placement: Upper Levels

Temperament: Peaceful to Mildly Aggressive

Acropora Corals are among the most colorful and fast-growing SPS (Small Polyp Stony) corals, prized for their intricate, branching structures and vibrant hues. These corals can display a variety of colors, from greens and blues to pinks, purples, and yellows. Acropora species are known for their ability to grow quickly, forming beautiful, dense colonies that can become a stunning focal point in any reef aquarium.

Acropora requires high lighting and medium to strong water flow to thrive. They depend heavily on photosynthesis through their symbiotic zooxanthellae, so adequate lighting is essential to keep them healthy and colorful. Regular feedings of fine plankton or coral foods can also help support their growth and vitality.

While peaceful, Acropora corals are sensitive to water quality and nutrient levels. They prefer stable water parameters and should be placed in an area of the tank with good flow and lighting to prevent any stress or bleaching.
